Dallas’ Pegasus Park Announced as the ARPA-H Customer Experience Hub
The City of Dallas and Pegasus Park have been selected as the home of the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) Customer Experience Hub, which will focus on developing accessible health solutions with the potential to be readily adopted. This designation is a huge boost to the growing biotech and life sciences industries and further cements Dallas’ position as a leader in these fields.
Dallas and Pegasus Park will serve as the physical location for the ARPA-H consortium between Dallas, San Antonio, Austin, and Houston with additional stakeholders in El Paso and College Station, and all cities will serve to support the success of ARPA-H’s Customer Experience Hub goals.
This ARPA-H initiative was set in motion following President Joe Biden's announcement last year, with a budget of $2.5 billion for the agency and an objective to promote high-potential, high-impact research in health science futures. ARPANET-H, a national healthcare innovation network, has been established to function as a hub-and-spoke model, anchored by three central hubs: the Customer Experience Hub, the Investor Catalyst Hub, and the Stakeholder and Operations Hub. Spoke sites span across the country and hospitals, health systems, or universities are welcome to apply for designation.
Collectively, this network will work in tandem with ARPA-H to catalyze groundbreaking advancements in the fields of science and medicine. It aims to expedite the resolution of healthcare challenges by providing accessible and equitable solutions to the entire American population. Dallas will address a variety of preventative, therapeutic, and treatment needs, with a core focus on ensuring upcoming healthcare breakthroughs are centered around patients and lead to better outcomes for all Americans.
The other two centers include the Stakeholder and Operations Hub which will be based near the Department of Health and Human Services in the Washington D.C. region, and the Investor Catalyst Hub will operate in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in the greater Boston area. Pegasus Park is a 26-acre life science and social impact-focused campus situated off Stemmons Freeway.
