City of Dallas awards over $600K to small businesses

The Small Business Continuity Fund (SBCF) program, a partnership between the City of Dallas Office of Economic Development, Dallas Development Fund, and National Development Council, has awarded over $600K to Dallas small businesses impacted by COVID-19.

$250K available to support Affordable Healthy Food access

The Dallas Development Fund has $250K available to fund affordable healthy food availability in qualified low access census tracts. The maximum award is $70K in the form of forgivable loans to non-profit organizations. Applications due 5/24/19 at 5:00pm.

Dallas-shot Marvel show "The Gifted" is ordered to series

Marvel's new TV show "The Gifted," shot in Deep Ellum and starring Dallasite Amy Acker, has been picked up by Fox. The series is tentatively scheduled to debut this fall.

D-FW cranks out another 119,000 new jobs, dwarfing other Texas metro areas

North Texas' job-making machine is still running at full speed ahead. More than 119,000 new jobs were added in the Dallas-Fort Worth area during the 12-month period ending in February. The total employment base in North Texas grew by about 3.5 percent.
